Hello there!
I have convinced my partners at Quarry Integrated Communications to give me a promotion.
As of October 1, I have a new role in the QIC organization: Chairman and CEO. Succeeding me as President and COO is my good friend and long-time teammate Ken Whyte. My new role allows me more time to work on strategy, write, teach, speak and to continue my client relationships on a senior level. I continue to be the majority shareholder in the business.
This move is a win-win-win for clients, the Q team and AlanQ.
Ken has been with Quarry for 17 years including the last five as Chief Operating Officer. Ken and I met in 1980 as we both started our careers in the head office marketing communications department of Canada Trust, which was the 6th largest Canadian financial institution at that time. While Ken and I are totally aligned on the vision, mission and values of our organization, I look forward to the innovations and new initiatives that he will no doubt bring to life in the near future. Ken has a great leadership style and a strong grip on business practice that will be strong assets in our growth and our continued ability to help our clients build their business.
I will continue to work in the Quarry offices in Canada and North Carolina, USA. Think of me now as working on the business instead of in the business.
This internal move at Quarry will not change the relationships I currently have with clients.
Shift happens as they say, and this is both a proactive and positive move forward.
All the best,
Alan Q
